Tinderbox?
Armed With Chocolates, Buttons, & Stickers
I started a first walk after trying to absorb the news both nationally and internationally. It was not comforting.
A feeling of foreboding? That is how it started. Then I saw one of the landscapers I knew atop his truck, breaking down branches.
“How long will you be here?”
“Half day.”
“ I’ll see you later then,” me knowing I only had so many dark chocolates with me.
I saw a button recipient I had not seen in a while, and said out loud for the first time. “Are we at a tinderbox?” Chocolate and two Keep Calm & Be Kind buttons given and discussion had.
Then on to a non dark chocolate delivery carrier, Heath chosen, and catching up after a long time not connecting on his route.
Across the street to a button recipient, who is a construction person, and has a fondness for dark chocolate. I had saved one for him.
I showed him my sack, which had just broken, and he gave me all kinds of advice of how to correctly repair it. Will tend to later with his expertise.
Up and down the Butte, seeing people who do not like to break their stride, and gave greetings of the day.
I had a lot of new words and concepts thrown at me today in the news that I am still trying to figure out as we move forward. A language of a culture of which I am not a part.
But in the meantime, I shall repair my ‘merchandise’ sack. You want to add to the advice?

Sometimes something new can be helpful. I’ve had a few new things lately and it’s been helpful moving forward.
maybe by fixing the bag it might also fix this world
